Professor Sir Adrian Bird jointly awarded the 2020 Brain Prize

Many congratulations from CDBS colleagues!

CDBS offers our warmest congratulations to our colleague Professor Sir Adrian Bird (Buchanan Professor of Genetics, Wellcome Centre for Cell Biology in the College of Science and Engineering and co-Director of the Simons Initiative for the Developing Brain) on being awarded The 2020 Brain Prize jointly with Professor Huda Zoghbi (Professor of Paediatrics, Human and Molecular Genetics, and of Neurology and Neuroscience, Baylor College of Medicine in Texas).

This is a wonderful recognition of Adrian’s long-standing work on the epigenetics of the Mecp2 gene and highlights how fundamental research can catalyse the development of potential therapeutic treatment of brain disorders.
