Joint Research Symposium

The Inaugural symposium aims to facilitate both Research Collaborations and a Post-Graduate Exchange Programme, and will be held on 23-24th August 2011.

Background

Following discussions with Professor Jianhong Luo, Head of the Department of Neurobiology at Zhejiang University, China, the Inaugural Joint Research Symposium will take place at the Centre for Integrative Physiology (CIP).

The focus of the symposium will be in the areas of neuroscience / neuroendocrinology.

Zhejiang University, based in Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province, is one of the top five Universities in China (with Project 211 and Project 985 status)

Meeting format

Scientists from Edinburgh and Zhejiang with complementary research interests will give talks on their research during the two-day symposium.

The symposium will also provide an opportunity for other members of CMVM to become involved in discussions by way of two integrated poster sessions.

The day after the symposium will be dedicated to discussion of possible collaborative ventures in distance learning.

A second symposium is planned to be held at Zhejiang University in 2012.
