Molecular mechanisms of Exocytosis & Endocytosis

The eighth meeting to bring together young scientists working on the common theme of exocytosis and endocytosis will be held on 3rd-5th April 2011

Background

This will be the eighth meeting in a series of biannual workshops, which started in 1997, that bring together young scientists from leading European and international laboratories working in different disciplines, all on the common theme of exocytosis and endocytosis.

The workshops’ unique format is designed to be a forum for younger scientists, including PhD students, junior and senior postdoctoral researchers or lecturers and principal investigators at the early stage in their careers.

The aim is to stimulate an open exchange of ideas, as well as to establish potential future collaborations and networks between principal investigators and group leaders of the next generation.

With this aspect in mind, the workshop is designed to be more interactive than most larger symposia, with a smaller group of participants discussing work that is either unpublished or in press.

Plenary speakers for this meeting will be Giampietro Schiavo and Sandra Schmid.

Meeting format

Plenary speakers will each give a 60 minute talk and other invited speakers will each give a 35 minute talk.

Registrants are encouraged to submit poster abstracts. Poster sessions and wine reception will take place on the Sunday and Monday evenings. Selected poster presenters will have the opportunity to present a short oral presentation.
